Description:
Recently, trophy hunting has raised contentions among both the public and the conservation community. The morality of trophy hunting as a conservation practice lies at the heart of such debates. An emerging body of the conservation literature has investigated the ethical aspects of trophy hunting, indicating polarization and acrimony among the conservation community. Addressing these disputations and moving the debate forwards require empirical evidence on the views of the wider conservation community, particularly those who do not have representative voices but have impacts on policy and field efforts. This study will examine the underlying social and psychological factors of the global conservation community’s moral views on trophy hunting.
