Description:
Through the creation of a web interface app, this project aims to understand the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic’s effect on Texas workers. Using data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Texas Workforce Commission, unemployment claims will be explored by Texas counties as well as workforce sectors. Per the Texas Department of State Health Service, COVID-19 related data, including deaths and cases, will be added to the dateset. The dateset will be in the ultimate form of a geographic information system, which will allow enhanced spatial data analysis to better understand the unfolding scenario in Texas. This project will support efforts to support future pandemics.
