Faculty Mentor: Dr. Christopher Menzel, Ph.D.
Meeting Times:

Team Size:

Open Spots: 0
Special Opportunities:
Possible acknowledgement in a published piece.
Team Needs:
I need researchers who are able to tell the accurate and detailed story of Kaepernick’s career from his first protest to the present. Separately, I need researchers who are able to find and summarize as many articles that discuss 1) Kaepernick’s stated reasons for protesting, the reaction and participation from the sports world, and the reaction and reception by the broader public. If time, we will look more broadly at the ethical issues of peaceful protesting
Description:
Looking at the historical, interpretive, and ethical issues surrounding taking a knee during the national anthem, and other forms of protesting in the context of sports.
