Most undergraduate students in our group make substantial enough contributions to projects that they are included as co-authors on presentations and publications. In addition, all students should expect to gain valuable experience working with animals in a research setting.

Any students seeking to join our lab should anticipate spending about ~10 hours in the lab each week and be ready and able to commit to the lab for 2 semesters. We’re seeking team players with strong critical thinking and organizational skills. |

Description:
|
While avoidant behaviors are adaptive in normal circumstances, such behaviors can become maladaptive if they become compulsive, as is the case in many anxiety disorders. Our team seeks to understand the dynamic neural mechanisms which underlie the acquisition of such behaviors. We use a combination of chemogenetic, behavioral, and immunohistochemical techniques to address these questions. |
