Description:
|
Our investigation into the unique psychosocial factors affecting Hispanic students pursuing STEM majors is also critical, as these fields often present distinctive challenges and stressors. By exploring the relationship among substance use, mental health, academic impact and career choices in this population, we can help inform policies and interventions to better support and retain Hispanic STEM students and thus promote student retention and diversity in these crucial fields. Finally, our research will highlight the barriers to seeking help while simultaneously assessing the acceptability of a culturally tailored, psychosocial support program designed to address the well-being and academic achievement of Hispanic undergraduate students. |
