(Knowledge) Potential opportunities include learning more about the field of urban planning, specifically how social capital being leveraged for disaster planning processes. I would love to help you get connected with others in urban planning field and network and provide ongoing mentorship. These experiences are beneficial for all students, especially those interested in attending graduate school. (Skills) Undergraduate students will have the opportunity to be familiar with the overall process to analyze qualitative data, describe the results, and translate the results given the context.

I am seeking highly motivated, detail-oriented, and dependable undergraduate students with an enthusiasm about research in social science, especially urban planning. Urban and regional science major are preferred but not limited to. Prior experience with plan evaluation is not required, students will be led and trained by the project leader. Attending bi-weekly meetings and weekly checking-in via emails are required. Meeting and email checking-in schedules can be changed upon request in advance. |

You will be supporting with analyzing and coding the hazard mitigation plan documents, using the software designed for advanced qualitative and quantitative research. The license for the software will be provided through either Texas A&M University or the project leader. Applicants who demonstrate their interest in this project and send their CVs to the project leader(s.jang@tamu.edu) will be considered the most. |
