Spring 2023: Improving Literacy Outcomes for Struggling Readers through Systematic Instruction

Participants will get to explore the field of literacy and what it takes to teach a student to read; conference presentations and co-authorship are also possible
Team Needs:
academic writing skills, knowledge of library’s data base, CITI training; most meetings will be held via Zoom
Description:
This project will focus on struggling readers. Participants will listen to audio recording of preservice teachers tutoring elementary-aged students. They will complete fidelity checks to ensure lessons are taught accurately. Participants will be trained on the scoring protocol. Participants will also research articles and code data
