Spring 2022: The Effects of Preconception Parental Alcohol Consumption on Cancer and Aging

Special Opportunities:
Students will be able to have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the lab which include a variety of molecular techniques such as qPCR, RNA isolation and ChIP. We offer a unique window into clinically relevant research and working with an animal model. This is a great stepping stone for anyone interested in joining the industry or academia.
Team Needs:
Our team is looking for students who have a passion for research, eager to learn and enthusiastic. Students will have the opportunity to work on animal handling skills and molecular techniques. A minimum of 5 hours per week is required. Ideally students will join the lab for longer than a semester.
Description:
Using a mouse model of voluntary alcohol consumption, this project aims to investigate a possible link between parental alcohol exposure and the predisposition of the offspring developing cancer and advanced aging.
