Members of the business team will gain valuable experience in drafting grant proposals, navigating governmental and large organizational funding landscapes, and cultivating relationships for sponsorship and donations. Furthermore, students will contribute to the lab’s financial growth through successful funding acquisition. Additional opportunities will vary based on individual interest and availability, including participation in conferences, facility tours, and engagement with governmental and non-governmental organizations at various levels. There is also the potential for co-authorship on publications and progression to a full membership within our research group. |

While prior experience in this field is not mandatory, a foundational understanding of its potential benefits for personal and professional growth is advantageous. We are particularly seeking students who can commit to weekly engagements throughout the summer. |
Description:
|
The Business Team at the Learning Interactive Visualization Experience (LIVE) Lab collaborates closely with researchers and game developers to secure funding for projects and products. Under the guidance of Associate Research Scientist Dr. Michael Rugh, the team engages with TAMU Sponsored Research Services (SRS) and the Texas A&M Foundation to seek opportunities, craft grant proposals, and cultivate relationships with donors and sponsors.
The LIVE Lab serves as a dynamic research hub where students collaborate with faculty and industry partners to design and develop interactive learning experiences, virtual objects, and environments. Additionally, the lab has a research team that conducts research on topics related to game-based learning. The primary objective of the LIVE Lab’s business team is to learn and implement best practices in securing funding from local, state, and national sources. |
