Description:
This project aims to conduct a comprehensive economic analysis of the beef value chain, focusing on cow-calf operations, stocker/backgrounding operations, and feedlot finishing in the US, particularly in Texas. By evaluating cost structures, revenue streams, and profitability at each stage, the project will provide insights into the economic drivers and challenges within the beef industry. An important aspect of this analysis will be assessing the economic impact of animal health and welfare, including the costs associated with disease management, reproductive health, and general animal care. This will highlight the crucial role that veterinary practices play in maintaining the economic viability of the beef value chain. The findings will be visualized through interactive tools, enhancing the accessibility and comprehension of the data. Additionally, artificial intelligence techniques will be integrated to optimize decision-making processes and predict economic outcomes within the beef value chain.
