The project is looking for motivated undergraduate students to partake in the project as Research Assistants to be responsible for supporting research activities of the Economic Statecraft Program Team under general supervision by Dr. William Norris. The position is open to all majors. However, majors in Economics, History, Business, Statistics, International Studies, Computer Science, Political Science, Sociology, and Communications are preferred. Open to all years, but likely best fit for sophomores and juniors because of the multiyear nature of the project. An ideal Research Assistant will have a knowledge or interest in international affairs and security; economics/business; statistical analysis; and the academic literature on the topic |

The Bush School’s Economic Statecraft Program (ESP)is a novel program that seeks to analyze economic statecraft, bring together academics from across the world, and serve as a link between policymakers and academia. It is led by Dr. William Norris, an associate professor in The Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University who also directs the school’s concentration in China Studies. The Program conducts academic and policy-oriented research on economic statecraft. It also hosts a speaker series and the Economic Statecraft Conference, an innovative venue for ‘whole of government’ interagency coordination on issues of economic statecraft. The program prides itself on facilitating dialogue between academia and practitioners. ESP draws together interdisciplinary approaches to economic statecraft to provide rigorous analysis of both empirical challenges and theory-oriented innovations in the realm of economic statecraft. The ESP is also a catalyst for educating and fostering the next generation of expertise in the field of economic statecraft |
