Description:
|
The purpose of this study is to understand the experiences of first-generation, low-income Women of Color at predominantly white institutions (PWIs). Specifically, we are interested in exploring the following questions: (a) What microaggressions do first-generation, low-income Women of Color encounter, if any, at PWIs? (b) What microaffirmations do first-generation, low-income Women of Color encounter, if any, at PWIs? (c) In what ways, if any, do microaffirmations help first-generation, low-income Women of Color overcome the microaggressions they experience at PWIs? We intend to use a qualitative case study methodology in this project. |
