Team Needs:
No prior research experience is required. Students do not need to have coding or specific data analysis software experience. Training is provided. Description:
This is a mixed methods project that looks at how the longest-running prime-time drama of all time, “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit,” portrays rape cases. The purpose is to see to what extent, if any, the show portrays rape myths in its depiction of victims, perpetrators, and the crime as a whole. In addition, we are transcribing discussions of rape myths to understand how they discuss them in dialogue; are they introducing rape myths to dismantle them or are they inadvertently reinforcing them?
