The project strives to get a fundamental understanding on how varying temperature with time affects the useful life of metals. This new knowledge will address the need to increase operating temperatures in key industrial sectors to improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact, without compromising safety. Students would be working on computational modelling of Ni-based superalloys. Additional opportunities to get involved in experimental work might also become available, so reach out if interested. |
