Students contributing significantly to the project will bo considered for: co-authorship on conference presentations and published papers, attendance and presenting at local scientific meetings (e.g., Aggie Research Week), or a future paid position as a laboratory technician

Ability to work both outside and in a laboratory setting; problem-solving skills; willingness to learn new analysis techniques; attention to detail
Description:
This project involves field sampling of soils at various places throughout the state of Texas, as well as laboratory analysis of those samples to determine their physical properties. The goal of the project is to better understand the ability of soils in the state to store water. Findings of this project will be used for applications such as drought prediction, streamflow forecasting, etc.
