Team Needs:
This team is seeking well-organized, passionate, and communicative team members who are passionate about understanding the different health disparities that different races, classes, and genders face, and seeking to ensure that all have proper access to the healthcare and nutrition they need |
Description:
Through holistic analysis of community cookbooks collected by Dr. Cisneros and academic literature on nutrition and food access, this student research team will create a pedagogical article to educate college students about how their nutrition is affected by race, class, gender, location, food insecurity, and knowledge about nutrition. Ultimately, this team hopes that this analysis of cookbooks and the conclusions drawn will not only help students to understand how to satisfy their nutritional needs with the resources at their disposal, but also can educate them about the intersectionality of social factors that affect themselves and their peers |
