Opportunity to create innovative story-telling through medium of podcast creation. Improve or gain the following skill sets: interviewing techniques, research, writing, editing, story boarding, audio recording and editing, podcast creation. Also, an opportunity to get research credit hours (1-3 hrs per semester) from GEOG 491.
Team Needs:
The team would be best served by students interested in the complexities of environmental change, interdisciplinary collaboration, story telling from a variety of perspectives, and creation of podcasts.Students interested in complex environmental issues are encouraged to apply. We need a wide variety of skill sets and have several sub-teams you can join, including : Marketing and Communication, Research and Script Writing, Audio Engineering, and Podcast Production.
Description:
This opportunity involves the creation of interdisciplinary podcasts that highlight applied research perspectives from faculty across campus. Students will be asked to assist in identifying and drafting topics and questions for podcasts, as well as identifying and recruiting faculty to participate. Podcasts will be focused on incorporating discussion of cultural discourse topics (e.g. power, authority, bias, etc.) into topics on environmental change, utilizing a systems perspective to highlight the complexities of feedback loops and trade-offs.
