Biochemistry and Biophysics
Faculty Mentor: Vlad Panin, Ph.D.
Meeting Times:
 F 4:00PM-5:00PM
Team Size:
3
Open Spots: 0
Special Opportunities:
Exploration of glycobiology and neurobiology fields, potential co-authorship on publications.
Team Needs:
Basic knowledge in biology, genetics and biochemistry required.
Description:
Protein O-mannosylation is required for the correct development of muscular and nervous systems in animals. In this project, we will use genetic approaches to investigate the role of O-mannosylation in the development of sensory neurons in fruit flies. The genes of interest of this project have direct relation to diseases affecting humans.
