Affiliations: Aggie Research Mentoring Program
Project Leader: John Bogan
johnbogan@tamu.edu
Educational Administration & Human Resource Development
Faculty Mentor: Junghwan Kim, Ph.D.
Meeting Times: Wednesdays 3:30
Team Size:
5
Open Spots: 0
Special Opportunities:
Initially, this will be a literature review that can aim for publication where the members can gain co-authorship. If the project continues to a larger research project members may have further opportunities
Team Needs:
Teamwork and communication are key. A prospective member will need to make time for reading and collaborating, but also takes time for themselves and their family. We will be using excel for the article list, so basic skills in word and excel will be valuable
Description We will begin by researching the culture of both formal and informal mentoring in Southeast Asia, looking at places like Thailand and Singapore specifically. This will be in the context of these cultures within a global organization that is priority western in personnel and culture. The main goal is to see how these cultures can meld together in a mentoring sphere when the cultures do not agree on whether mentoring is good or bad for the organization or employees
