Team Needs:
Team members will be expected to:
  • conduct analyses in R, when necessary
  • develop theoretically driven hypotheses and test these hypotheses through the appropriate methods
  • code archival data relating to the job competencies discussed in recruitment materials
  • develop and present research findings to the management faculty during the spring 2020 semester
Description:
The experience of person-job fit during the application and recruitment process is one of the most influential factors when making a job choice. While previous research has examined the impact of perceptions of person-job fit, no research, to date, has fully explored the impact of the underlying components establishing these fit perceptions. Through this research program, we will investigate the impact of eight core competencies (Bartram, 2005) on the development and experience of person-job fit during the recruitment process. We will assess these core competencies through a series of field studies and archival data sources. Team members will learn how to code archival data, utilize R for analyzing data, and develop response surface analyses to analyze the underlying relationship of person-job fit during the recruitment process.
