Special Opportunities:
Participants will have opportunities to: 1) engage in intellectually stimulating conversations with youth, peers, and mentors from diverse racial/ethnic and cultural backgrounds 2) develop cultural competencies; 3) design, implement, and evaluate an intercultural pen pal program; 4) develop academic writing skills, and 5) (possibly) co-author a manuscript for journal submission or conference presentation
Team Needs:
We expect our team members to be: enthusiastic about the research topic; willing to read and critique academic articles; interested in working with youth from diverse backgrounds; and able to invest at least 5 hours per week in the project
Description:
This project explores intercultural engagement through 1) literature review; 2) interviews with diverse youth; 3) evaluation of an intercultural pen pal program about its effectiveness in improving intercultural engagement of participating youth. You can participate in one or more project components
